"Corners - 2006"
Summer Play Scheme for 5 - 11 year-olds
Volunteers from Churches across the Deanery ran a week-long play scheme for 60 children aged from 5 to 11 years of age.
"Corners" is held at Northbourne Parish Hall and ran from July 31st to 4th August.
Each day began at 10:00am and ended at 3:00pm. The theme of the week was "For All the Saints".
The activities, stories and singing, were led by Revd Peter Hambrook and Revd Frank Kent with help from "Mikey" and "Polly".
Activities enjoyed by the children during the day included team games: Football, Cricket, Bat and Trap and, for those who preferred Craft work, there was plenty of cutting and sticking!
On the Wednesday afternoon we had a visit from Pip the Clown with magic and a real rabbit.
The week finished on Friday with a fun afternoon with a Bouncy Castle and "Sumo Wrestling", kindly provided by Atlantis Entertainment.
